JURISDICTION: Superior Court 4 is one of the six superior courts located in Noblesville, the county seat for Hamilton County. The Court has the same civil jurisdiction as the other courts, except that Superior Courts 4, 5 and 6 have exclusive jurisdiction for small claims cases. On the criminal side, Superior Court 4 handles traffic felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic tickets.
CRIMINAL: One of the primary responsibilities of the Court is enforcing Indiana's drunk driving laws, by rehabilitating offenders and deterring future offenders.
CIVIL: As part of its civil jurisdiction, Superior Court 4 hears divorce cases and civil lawsuits.
SMALL CLAIMS: Superior Court 4 shares the county's small claims jurisdiction with Superior Courts 5 and 6. Those courts have prepared an informative Small Claims Litigant's Booklet which is available free of charge at hte Clerk's Office. The litigant's booklet and small claims forms are also available online at the County Judicial website listed above.
TRAFFIC: Superior Courts 4, 5 and 6 maintain a traffic docket and have jurisdiction over state infractions and local ordinance violations. For the convenience of the accused offenders, Courts 4, 5 and 6 conduct a night court session every Wednesday.
